This is not a replacement for guacamole. Its just another alternative. Sometimes avocados are not readily available nor ripe and packaged guacamole is just plain gross. But guess whats always in the store? Broccoli!

Not to mention this dip is only 4 calories per tbls. If you made it and ate the whole thing (not that any of us would ever do that), its only 150 calories for the whole recipe!

The recipe below makes 2.5 cups


3 cups chopped brccoli
1 jalapeno, chopped
2 tbls green onions
1 tsp olive oil
2 tbls fat free cream cheese
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 tbls coriander
2 tbls cumin
lime juice
Siracha to taste


Cut the broccoli and boil in lightly salted water. Do not worry about overcooking. This is the ONE time where overcooked broccoli is acceptable. 
While the brocolli is cooking, add all of the other ingredients into a bowl. 
Drain the broccoli and add into a bowl with the other ingredients. Use whatever you have available to blend until smooth. Again, I am really thinking I need a food processor........

It really started to look like guacamole! 

Serve it up in a bowl. I served this warm, but also tried it when it was cold and it was good both ways.
