Green Smoothie? If you want to stay full till lunch then try this power packed green smoothie for breakfast!



There are so many versions of smoothies out there that I'm not going to pretend that mine is the ultimate smoothie. However, my smoothie is created off simple ingredients that you would most likely already have in your house. We all know by now that unless the food is right in front of you you aren't going to run to the store just to pick up specialty ingredients. My smoothie was also designed with the goal of filling me up and getting some vegetables into the system on those days where catered lunches or eating out just don't fill my vegetable quota for the day. 

This smoothie is not for the faint of heart. I have still not been able to get my husband to try it, I don't know why green is such a deterrent to some?  Not for the faint of heart (and must be ok with green), but here is my favorite smoothie! 

The other great things about smoothies is you change the recipe each time based on what you have available or what fruits and vegetables are in season. Also, use up your vegetables that are nearing composting.....






Ingredients (300 calories for one shake using these):
  • Astro Fat Free Zero - Strawberry Yogurt Stirred, 100 g (1/3 Cup)
  • Cucumber - 1/2 of a medium
  • Blue Diamond Almond Breeze - Chocolate - Unsweetened, 1/2 cup
  • Bananas - Raw, 1 medium
  • Carrots, 1 medium
  • Baby spinach, 2 cups
  • PB2, 2 tbls
  • Blueberries - Frozen, unsweetened, 0.3 cup, unthawed
  • Ice


Other ingredients I have used in the past: 

  • Mango
  • Celery
  • Beets
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla


Directions: 

Put in blender and blend. 
Add ice if you want to make thicker. 
Make up a quick batch and share with your house guests!

Stumbled across your blog and was amazed that you put so much effort into using great ingredients only to ruin it by using yoghurt that contains sucralose.
