The variation to the recipe this time was more in the production than the recipe itself. The only alteration we made to the ingredients was that we used half black sesame seeds this time rather than all white sesame seeds.
For those lazy readers out there who refuse to look back at the original recipe, I will be kind and repost here (mix all together over low heat on the stove, place 2 tbls on a lined parchment paper cookie sheet, cook at 350' for 10-12 minutes or until browning)
Presentation (Version 2)
Since we got home from work and only had an hour to book club, we didn't think that making the original cone shape would work as they need time to harden in the fridge. So we decided to roll this time (like sushi).
We also used blue cheese this time with pair and skipped any sprouts. The black sesame seeds really added to the presentation! Yum.
The new roll technique worked and resulted in a very large piece, so we cut in half. Next time I would cut into three's as this is such a rich recipe, smaller is better.
Threw these on a plate and put in the fridge for 30 minutes. They were a big hit and I promised the book club that I would bring a new version for the December meeting!
