5 Ingredient Quinoa Salad

I have had some requests for some really quick and easy recipes. Doing a lot of market research lately and while some people find my recipes interesting (like cauliflower rice sushi), they don't have the time or patience to make them. So a few people have asked for simple recipes. I always assumed that nobody wanted to see a simple recipe, I mean 5 ingredients and 20 minute cook isn't really anything special, but my fellow followers are telling me they need IDEAS for what to cook. This makes sense now. I'm no chef nor can I bake anything more than a peanut butter cookie. But the ideas that float through this brain are what I love to share.  So if you want, I will start posting quick posts, with quick recipe ideas that I make all of the time.

Remember the smoked cabbage salad I posted back in August? Well I turned it into a quinoa salad this morning. The results are good. Sharing here. Only problem with making a new recipe at 6am is that there is no natural daylight for the photos. Taking this one to a dinner party tonight!


  • 1 cup dry quinoa
  • 1/2 red cabbage
  • Dill, fresh
  • Liquid smoke
  • Soy sauce


  • Make your quinoa (easy way to remember, double the water for whatever dry portion of quinoa  you use, boil, then cover with lid on lowest temperature for 15 minutes).  
  • Finely chop the red cabbage
  • Chop the dill 
  • Mix in 2 tbls liquid smoke and soy sauce
  • Mix in the cooked quinoa 
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Let sit in fridge for a few hours

So quick and easy that I'm laughing at how quick this blog post took. Time for breakfast now!
